The Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE Act) requires all DEA-registered practitioners to complete a total of eight hours of training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance user disorders. The deadline for satisfying this training requirement is the date of the practitioner's next scheduled DEA registration submission (initial registration or renewal registration).
