Over 10 million Americans rely on medical devices that may be vulnerable to cyberattacks. The COVID-19 pandemic increased the public’s reliance on these medical devices. MRI scanners, x-ray machines, heart rate monitors, blood pressure monitors, respiration monitors, glucose sensors, brain liquid pressure sensors, endoscope capsules, and cardiac arrhythmia monitors/recorders are examples of medical devices at risk. This activity discusses the vulnerabilities and provides risk mitigation strategies.
